Method Acting and Improvisation Workshops for Theatre, Television and Film are in Cathedral City, Monday nights and Saturday afternoons through June.  The classes are ongoing with open enrollment.

Are you rusty and need to keep your chops up for work?  Do you need to prepare for a career in LA or NYC?   Or do you just want to develop your talent and improve your life skills? Or need coaching for a role or an audition? 

As a Life Member of The Actors Studio, I am committed to cultivating the highest level of professional acting.  Contrary to popular opinion, good acting is good acting whether on a live stage, in film, or on television.  And the core of the creative process applies to all art forms.

There is a fast growing need for professional level performers in the Palm Springs area. 

My classes are the only professionally conducted practical classes in the desert.  I am often sought for casting and have successfully placed students in paying roles.  I support my students getting jobs in the business whenever possible and a high percentage of them secure work in the industry within months of studying with me. Occasionally, students have opportunities to attend special/private/invitation only events in LA, and to meet industry icons. 

This is a unique opportunity to experience world-class training right here in the desert.

Actors, like musicians and athletes, need to work out to stay in shape and finely tuned.  Classes include physical and vocal warms up, exercises to develop the intuition and imagination, improvisation, sense memory and affective memory, monologues, scene work, character development, script analysis and breakdown, cold readings, audition, on camera, film techniques, career development and the business of the industry.  Actors, singers, dancers, writers, directors and other artists learn how to tell story effectively.

Classes are for ages 12 and up, to Master Classes for working professionals.  Private coaching is available upon request.

Monday classes are 6 -10 PM for $200. a month
Saturday afternoons 1 - 4 PM for $150. a month.
Classes are small. A three month commitment is required. There is a one time only $10. registration fee per student.   When you register you will be given directions and an orientation.

 Ms. Girard has been a working professional in the industry both on the stage and in production for over forty years.  She was a protégé of Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, and many other American Masters of theatre, television and film.  She introduced Spolin Improvisation to The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute when it first opened in NYC and at the National Film Board of Canada. She is a Life Member of The Actors Studio, an award-wining actor and producer, a director and national voice over artist, and coaches and develops writers.
